Shindig

Today, we lay Rick "Shindig" Shindler to rest. We will celebrate his life and then scatter his ashes into the sky that he loved so much.

I've known Shindig for a long time and I still don't think it's hit me that he's gone. Rick died last Saturday during a skydive. He had a malfunction with his main and cut away over the dropzone. He never deployed his reserve......

Rick survived a 20+ year career in the Marine Corps as a Recon Marine. Is last few years in the Corps were spent outside the Recon community as a First Sergeant. I can remember sitting in our barracks in Ramadi listening to him complain about being away from his Recon brothers.

As Marines, we hesitantly form friendships knowing that those friends acn be taken from us at any time. Unfortunately, our extreme ways continue well beyond our military careers. Shindig was taken from us far too soon.

Shindig is survived by his wife and two children.....

Rick, you will be missed dearly.

Fair winds and folllowing seas, brother.

Adam
